2023 Byron Nelson
The 2023 Byron Nelson golf tournament at TPC Craig Ranch has come to an end, and it was an exciting event for golf fans. The tournament began on Thursday and lasted until Sunday, featuring some of the top players in the world.
Last year’s breakout star, Tom Kim, was among the players who showed up for the tournament. He was considered a strong contender with 20-1 odds, but he did not have a great performance, finishing outside the top 20.
The field lost its de-facto host, Jordan Speith, on Monday, when he had to withdraw due to a wrist injury. Despite Speith’s absence, the tournament featured some of the best golfers in the world, including Scottie Scheffler, who was the favorite to win with 9-2 odds. Scheffler lived up to expectations and had a great performance.
The tournament was considered a final gear-up for the upcoming PGA Championship at Oak Hill these week. With most of the top players taking the week off from competitive golf, the field was a little weaker than in years past.
TPC Craig Ranch has been hosting the tournament since 2021. It played at 7400 yards at a Par 72, making it one of the easier tests on the tour. K.H. Lee won the tournament the last two years with impressive scores of -25 and -26, respectively. With low scores possible, birdie machines were expected to be near the top of the leaderboard.

While Tom Kim was considered a strong contender for the title, he did not perform up to expectations. Instead, Jason Day, took home the 2023 Byron Nelson.
Overall, the 2023 Byron Nelson golf tournament was an exciting event, despite the absence of some of the top players in the world. The course played fairly easy, and low scores were possible, leading to a lot of excitement and great performances from the players.
